5 October 2015 – Lliber Hidden Valley

Really nice to be back walking with our Monday group again, our first walk since the long summer break
We spotted this finca for sale, very much in need of some renovation.   Either the housing market has improved, or this is a very optimistic English seller.
We had a rally good turnout, including Jackie, Mike and Ian.   It is some time since they have walked with us, and it was good to see them again.
Our first stop was the abandoned zoo, which is no longer abandoned.   It was obvious that there has been a lot of work done recently
We were particularly pleased to see the return of the sea lions, who have been missing during our last two visit.
A young woman was cleaning out the pool, the first time I have seen anyone working there.

Though quite warm, it was very pleasant walking alongside the dry river bed.
And this very old tree was a good excuse for another stop and photo opportunity.

The only downside to this walk is the lack of a suitable picnic spot.   This is the one we usually use.  It is close to the end of the walk, and not in the most attractive location.  But a sit down on proper seats is a real treat.

And then back to Lliber, which has a surprising number of very pretty corners.

Next week Pat is leading a new walk, which does not even have a name yet.   It is an extension of the Dead Dog walk and provisionally called Dead Dog Baranco.   The meeting place is also a little vague.   Leave Jalon on the Bernia road, pass the old parking area on the right and park on the road on the left near the start of the Dead Dog Walk.   Meet at 10am.   Good luck!
