Fifteen of us today, including Jackie and Mike plus Ann and
Peter, making it our largest group for quite a long time. Excellent walking weather again, to make up
for the less than perfect weather we have had more often than not since we
started walking after the summer break.
After a short walk through the woods it was uphill on a
less than perfect track
But Peter was ready with a helping hand for those who
needed one
We joined the rest of the world in the one minute silence
in memory of the victims of the terror attack on Paris last Friday, and Ken said a few appropriate words
After our climb it was a very pleasant walk along the
wide track to the start of our second climb.
It is often muddy along this section, but despite the recent rain it was
quite firm today.
And being such a good path we were able to look around
and enjoy the excellent views. It was a
little hazy again today, which was not good for photographs, but the views were
still pretty impressive.
We had our banana stop before we started the summit
climb. Thanks to David for this rare
photo of the two of us together
Then it was up....
....and up....
....and up again....
We finally reached the summit where we had our
lunch. Although I am now told that this
is not really the summit, it was quite enough for us.
The path down is not one of the best, and going down is
always more difficult than going up. But
Peter and Mike found an alternative track, which was much easier than last
time.
When we had an opportunity to look around, we had this
spectacular view of Calpe and the Ifach

Next week will be the circular walk from Castells de Castell
via that very steep hill past the castle.
Meet at the car park in the village centre at 10am.
